It has been a while since we have sent an update on everything! A lot has changed in the last two weeks....finally some good changes that are moving us forward and into the next stage of life!
First of all, Brandon is now a full-time employee of Perfect Foods Bar! He is the sales representative for all of the Orange County/LA region. This is a great opportunity and exciting for us because he won't be working 7 days a week at 3 different jobs anymore!! There will be some traveling involved, but he is really looking forward to this next step! His new job begins June 1!
Also, this week I got moved to full-time status at PLNU. I will be working 32 hours a week and still nannying some as well. This is an answer to prayer because now I also won't be working 6-7 days a week at 3 different jobs! How simple life will seem for us! :)
These changes mean that it's time to get our own place!! We will probably be moving a little farther north (north county San Diego, not LA) in the next two months! I am so excited to have our own place again. I have been decorating in my mind for months (and maybe with my Pier 1 discount too....).
Thank you all for all of the love and support these last 11 months as we have been re-settling. Time for the next adventure!!

Blessings
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet you love us way too much to give us lesser things
‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
But long that we'd have the faith to believe
‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are your mercies in disguise
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet you love us way too much to give us lesser things

2011
I can't believe it's already one month into 2011! Brandon and I were just talking about how we still say we "just got back from Hungary" when really, it has been 7 months!!! Life has been crazy (but then again, when isn't it, really??) I recently got a part-time job at Point Loma Nazarene University as the department assistant in the school of education. So far I am enjoying it! I am still working at Pier 1 too!
Brandon is still at Wyndham and has been working at our friends' local store, Make Good, quite a bit as well. He has been making guitar straps, bag straps, and dog collars out of ties. So far he has only sold the guitar straps in the store, but he has sold a lot!
We have been thinking and talking a lot about what God has in store for us. We feel like we have just been in survival mode the last few months since returning home (and we still are!), but eventually we need to start branching out more into what God has for us, which is what we are trying to figure out right now! Brandon spoke at the San Diego High School boys's basketball chapel the other night and he did a great job. He is interested in doing more work like that with youth, but is trying to find the right outlet for it.
Please keep us in your prayers as we navigate what Gods' call for us is in this time. Thinking of you all!!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Hello everyone!
Hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and autumn! We have been enjoying some cooler weather here in San Diego! Yesterday night we were looking at the temperature and it was 7 degrees cooler in San Diego than in Bellingham! We are looking forward to a white Christmas this year in Washington though, and I am pretty sure San Diego won't have that!
Brandon has been working at Wyndham and I have been working a seasonal job at Pier 1 Imports. We are both enjoying our jobs, but I am still looking for a full-time position somewhere. At this point I'm really open to whatever God has for me!
We are finishing up a life-calling study called Life Compass that we have been doing with my parents' community in San Diego. It has been a 10 week study, and tonight is our final night, where we will be sharing our vision statements with the group. Brandon and I would covet your prayers as we continue to hone in on what our life calling is and where God is leading us.
We look forward to seeing you all this holiday! Many blessings!!
Love Brandon and Melissa

Life with Boys
Living with 4 boys is an interesting experience. I never really know what each day will bring. I still laugh when I think about the scene I came home to the other day:
I walked into the house, and all of the boys were there. One of them was in his room studying, the other was in his room on the computer, and one of them was sitting watching TV having soup straight from the pan it was cooked in. The kitchen looked like a hurricane hit it (let's be honest though, it looks like that every day). There was food all over the floor, dirty dishes and wrappers all over the living room, mail strewn across the room, an overflowing trashcan dropping items onto the floor, and two day old food sitting on the stove still. Some days when I come home to this I feel like crying, some days I feel like throwing something at someone (it would be easy to find something to throw considering there is trash everywhere), and some days it just makes me want to laugh.
I always wonder if they notice the mess or if they just don't care about it. Maybe it's both. But when I am coming home at night and feeling blah, sometimes it just takes looking at them all gathered around the couch watching The Office and laughing to make me feel a little more at ease. Ok, so the house is a disaster, I'm pretty sure there is salmonella crawling around the kitchen counters, and I will never feel 100% comfortable there, but at least they make me laugh.

For You
"If you were the only person on earth, the earth would look exactly the same. The Himalayas would still have their drama and the Caribbean would still have its charm. The sun would still nestle behind the Rockies in the evenings and spray light on the desert in the mornings. If you were the sole pilgrim on this globe, God would not diminish its beauty one degree.
Because he did it all for you."
Because he did it all for you."

Prayer Requests
Hi everyone!!
We are entering my favorite season: fall! We have a lot to be thankful for and are grateful for how the Lord has provided for us so far. But we also enter this season with a lot of burdens on our backs and we could use all the prayer that we can get!! Here are some ways that you can be praying for us the next couple of months:
1. That Melissa would find a job - whether it's just temporary or a more permanent one. She just needs any job right now!
2. That the hiring process would go quickly for Brandon so that he can begin working ASAP.
3. That God would provide the money we need to pay our bills the next couple of months while we go paycheck-less.
4. That God would provide a good home for us come November.
5. That we would continue to seek God's will for our lives and know where he is calling us to go and what he is calling us to do.
We are so grateful for all of your prayers and support! Let us know how we can be praying for you too! Love you all!
